Pakistan says India, Israel spy on its nuclear sites
Pakistan’s interior ministry decided to increase security around the country’s nuclear sites on suspicion that Indian and Israeli intelligence agencies are spying on them.
"According to the ministry, Indian and Israeli intelligence agencies had trained 25 Afghans in Kabul and sent them to Pakistan to glean information about its nuclear installations," The Daily Times reported.
In response, the ministry warned the provincial authorities to be "extra vigilant".
The ministry also said that another group of Afghans were also being trained in Kabul adding that two Afghans, identified as Hazrat Ali and Haji Zahir, were sent to Pakistan to recruit spying agents.
It also reported that the Indian government supplied fake Pakistani currency to the two Afghans.
"The ministry directed the provincial governments to be on the alert for suspicious Afghans and send regular updates on their measures in this regard", it added.
However, the BBC Urdu service quoted Pakistani interior minister Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao as saying that he wasn’t aware of any such warning.
